To that end, we want you to know that one of our main objectives throughout the Chapter 11 reorganization process is to ensure that we maintain a strong and resilient workforce throughout and as we emerge on the other side.

Chapter 11 protection provides us with unique tools to continue to take all the necessary steps to protect the groups’ interests. The Chapter 11 reorganization process is designed to allow companies or groups of companies like ours to operate as usual, pay their employees, and meet benefit obligations through an orderly process while resolving financial issues.

We also want to emphasize that today’s announcement will not affect our ongoing efforts to return to our regular operations. We will preserve continuity as much as possible and are committed to emerging as a more agile, resilient and sustainable airline, ready to welcome our customers back as demand starts to pick up again.

Importantly, we know we cannot emerge from this process successfully without the support of our employees. Your tireless efforts and the contributions you have made to our countries and our communities during the COVID-19 crisis have not gone unnoticed, and we have full faith that you will continue these efforts throughout this process.

    Our airlines are continuing to operate as conditions permit throughout this process. We expect this announcement to have little to no impact on day-to-day roles and responsibilities. You should continue to report to the same individuals unless told otherwise.

  3. Will there be any changes to my compensation or benefits or (e.g., sick time, vacation time, and holiday programs) as a result of this process?

    Chapter 11 protection provides us with unique tools to continue to take all the necessary steps to protect our employees’ interests. The Chapter 11 reorganization process is designed to allow companies like ours to operate as usual, pay their employees, and meet benefit obligations through an orderly process while resolving financial issues. We intend to pay all employee obligations and wages and to continue providing benefits in the normal course.

  4. Will employees be affected equally in all the countries in which LATAM operates?

    All of the companies in our group are able to operate as conditions permit throughout this process, and we expect this announcement to have little to no impact on day-to-day roles and responsibilities. Employees will be affected equally with consideration to their affiliate group and how they are handing the filing and the current pandemic.
